Day 16 The Bent Nail

 DAY 16 — THE BENT NAIL

A carpenter building a table hammered a nail too quickly,
bending it sideways.
He muttered in frustration and reached for a new one.

His apprentice said,
“Are you throwing it away?”

The carpenter shook his head.
“No. A bent nail can still be straightened.”

He placed it on the workbench,
tapped it gently with a hammer,
and soon it was straight—
strong enough to hold the table together.

“It was bent,” he said,
“not broken.”

Life bends us:
disappointments,
failures,
sins,
traumas,
rejections,
unmet hopes.

Many feel too bent to be used by God.
But God is a carpenter who refuses to discard you.
He places you on His workbench—
not to punish,
but to restore.

Lent is the season
when God straightens what life has bent.
Through prayer, discipline, silence, confession,
He reshapes you back to strength and purpose.

You are not beyond repair.
You are in the hands of a Master Carpenter.
