Day 22 The Jar of Clean and Dirty Water

DAY 22 — THE JAR OF CLEAN AND DIRTY WATER

A teacher filled a glass jar halfway with muddy water.
Then she slowly poured clean water into the jar—
and the students watched the muddy water overflow,
lighten,
and finally turn crystal clear.

One child raised her hand and said,
“So the clean water pushes the dirty water out?”

The teacher nodded.
“Exactly.
Purity isn’t achieved by shaking the jar…
but by filling it with something better.”

Many people try to “shake out” their sins—
trying harder,
feeling guilty,
punishing themselves internally,
making promises they can’t keep.

But confession is not shaking the jar.
It is letting God pour His mercy in.

Grace does not remove sin by force.
It removes sin by overflow.

As God pours love,
fear leaves.
As He pours truth,
lies dissolve.
As He pours mercy,
shame drains away.

Lent invites you to stop shaking the jar
and allow God to fill it
with clean, living water.
