Day 28 The Wrinkled Cloth

 DAY 28 — THE WRINKLED CLOTH

A tailor showed an apprentice
a wrinkled piece of expensive cloth.
The apprentice tried smoothing it with his hands—
but the wrinkles stayed.

The tailor then placed a steaming iron over it.
Slowly, the fabric softened,
smoothed,
relaxed,
and became beautiful again.

He said,
“Some wrinkles cannot be removed by pressure—
only by heat.”

Some areas of your life
cannot be fixed by willpower:
old patterns,
deep sins,
emotional knots,
habits you hate,
attitudes you inherited.

Pressure won’t change you.
Shame won’t transform you.
Strength alone won’t save you.

But God applies the heat of grace—
a gentle, penetrating warmth:
the warmth of prayer,
of confession,
of discipline,
of humility.

Heat doesn’t crush,
it softens.

Lent is God’s warm iron
over the wrinkled places of your soul.
