“Before I Fall” is a movie with similarities to the movie “Groundhog Day”. The main character, Sam, is experiencing the same day over and over again, and struggles with how to escape from the loop. Like Bill Murray’s character in “Groundhog Day”, she goes through an evolution in how she chooses to use the day, until she finally realizes she must use it to be fully in service to all. Only then does she find freedom and joy.

To listen to this movie commentary by David in conjunction with the movie, do the following:

- Rent or obtain the movie “Before I Fall” (check YouTube or Amazon for online rentals).

- Before watching the movie, listen to this recording from the beginning until the 9:21 point (9 minutes and 21 seconds into it). Then pause the recording and start the movie.

- After the scene where she wakes up in her bed the second time (after the car accident scene), pause the movie, and listen to David’s commentary from 9:21 until 10:23. Then resume the movie.

- After the lunchroom scene at school in which she asks her girlfriends, “Why do we hate Juliet?”, pause the movie and listen to David’s commentary from 10:23 to 19:45. Then resume the movie and watch it through to the end.

- To hear David’s after-movie talk, resume this recording from 19:45 until the end.
