Seek Not to Change the World - Going Deeper Retreat, Opening Session

This is the opening session of the "Going Deeper" 3-day retreat with David Hoffmeister and Messengers of Peace Jason Warwick, Suzanne Sullivan, and Frances Xu, as well as special guest James Twyman. In this opening session/sharing circle, David welcomes everyone to the retreat and invites them to all share a bit about why they came. These sharings are such a great witness of openness and willingness to dive deep!

After all the participants share (at about 1 hour, 52 minutes, and 55 seconds into this recording), David then goes into a very deep teaching session. One primary idea that gets explored is: “Seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world" (A Course in Miracles, T-21.In.1:7). The topic of politics and choosing political sides is also explored in conjunction with this profound idea.
