Ustadh then introduces the verified edition being used and transitions into the opening lines of the poem, showing how the author frames his advice as a sincere gift to those he loves, an advice he intends to spread because it contains the correct creed in opposition to the people of falsehood.

Ustadh AbulRahman Hassan then unpacks major foundations of Ahlus-Sunnah found within the poem: the virtue and order of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and that loving the Ṣaḥābah especially the Khulafā’, the Muhājirūn, and the Anṣār is an obligation and an honour for every Muslim. He also explains key beliefs of Sunni creed, including affirmation that the believers will see Allah on the Day of Judgment, and that the Speech of Allah is not created while warning against deviant sectarian beliefs such as the Jahmiyyah and those who oppose the established virtues and leadership of the Companions.
