'Widbey' Explores Different Responses to Childhood Abuse

The new novel Whidbey explores the lives of three women who are all connected by the same abusive man. Birdie has moved to a remote island to escape the man who abused her as a child. Linzie, also a victim of the same man, has become famous for writing a memoir about her experiences. Mary-Beth is the mother of the abuser.
