The marines wake from hypersleep in twelve chambers. The production could only afford four. The other eight? Mirrors. That kind of make-do genius runs right through Aliens (1986), James Cameron's ferocious follow-up to Alien.

Cameron went to war with his British crew to get it made, firing a cinematographer and trashing the tea trolley along the way, built a 14-foot Alien Queen by hand, and handed Sigourney Weaver's Ripley one of the great action roles.
