Trump Announces Federal Takeover Of DC Police, Deploying National Guard

Citing a crime emergency, President Trump says he's taking over the DC police, sending in the National Guard and is ready to do the same in other big cities. Overall crime numbers in DC are lower this year than in 2024. Plus, one of the most well-known Palestinian journalists, Anas Al-Sharif, is dead after being targeted in an Israeli strike.
