43 - Ancient Covenant Step 8 - Covenant Meal

The EIGHTH step in ancient covenants which were practiced in Abram’s time was a Covenant MEAL. The entire meal centered around the pronouncement of blessings and curses (Step 7) in front of WITNESSES as EACH covenant partner fed the ENTIRE meal to their new covenant partner. Remnants of this ceremony have carried over into many modern-day weddings, where the husband and wife feed the first bite of wedding cake in front of similar witnesses!
