Prayer Training Starts Here: The Theology, the Spirit, and Why Everyone Gets to Play

Before you can pray for people with power, you need a foundation. Not a formula, a foundation. Pastor Jon has taught this prayer training all over the world, and in this episode he walks us through it from the very beginning, starting with the question most people never ask: what do you actually believe about whether the ministry of Jesus is still for today?

In this episode:

• The biblical case from Genesis to Acts for why the Spirit didn’t stop moving when the apostles died and why that changes everything about how you show up to pray for someone
• How Jesus did ministry, why “He was God” is not the full answer, and what obedience, identity, and the filling of the Spirit have to do with how we do ministry now
•  What kairos time means in Mark 1 and why Jesus announcing the Kingdom of God carried so much significance
• The three things that marked Jesus’ life: obedience, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit remaining, along with what it takes to cultivate a life in step with Him
• Deliverance in India, holy laughter at a Saturday night conference right before COVID, a 15-year-old whose story started changing in a ministry moment, and a backpack that God had been setting up for years
