Many voters are giving President Donald Trump poor marks for his handling of the cost of living, and inflation is still high, which is the number that ultimately is more important to them. On affordability and the pricing behaviors of some businesses, Bloomberg’s Max Chafkin recently reported on the left-leaning nonprofit. Groundwork Collaborative, that’s focused on what it calls “surveillance pricing” -- the idea that retailers might charge customers different prices for items in stores and online based on all the data the companies have collected about them. Chafkin and Groundwork Collaborative CEO Lindsay Owens join to discuss.
