A Court of Wings and Ruin: Chapter 22 - 24

87 min • 21 mars 2023

Welcome to our 21-part deep-dive literary analysis of Sarah J. Maas’s bestselling romantasy novel, A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOWAR). In this episode, we cover chapters 22 through 24, as Feyre seeks clarity from one of Prythian’s most mysterious beings and begins to reassert control over the fractured dynamics of her chosen family.

With 13 years of combined academic literary experience and two distinct literary lenses, best friends Jac and Amy examine how Sarah J. Maas weaves prophecy, obligation, and domestic power into this pivotal transitional moment. From failed bargains to forced proximity, we explore what it means to balance strategy with compassion in the lead-up to war.

New here? We recommend starting with our full literary analyses of A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) and A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOMAF) to follow Feyre’s journey into the heart of Prythian’s politics, magic, and love.

Chapter Description:
On the morning of their journey to the Court of Nightmares, Feyre and Cassian venture alone to the Prison with the hope that the Bone Carver has answers to their most pressing questions. When the Carver outlines the requirements of his assistance, Feyre and Cassian return to Velaris empty handed. A visit to see her sisters has Feyre insistent that both they and Lucien move immediately to the townhouse from the House of Wind.
