A Court of Wings and Ruin: Chapters 63 - 65

78 min • 30 maj 2023

Welcome to our 21-part deep-dive literary analysis of Sarah J. Maas’s bestselling romantasy novel, A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOWAR). In this episode, we cover chapters 63 through 65, as Feyre and Azriel launch a high-stakes rescue mission into Hybern’s camp and come face to face with the cost of war, loyalty, and family.

With 13 years of combined academic literary experience and two rotating literary lenses, best friends Jac and Amy examine how Sarah J. Maas intensifies the emotional core of the story through sisterhood, sacrifice, and surprise alliances. As Feyre risks everything to save Elain, we ask: What do you do when your power isn’t enough and your enemies are the only ones who show you mercy?

Want to understand how far these characters have come? Check out our full literary breakdowns of A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) and A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOMAF) to follow Feyre’s evolution from survival to strategy.

Chapter Description:
Nesta and Feyre’s mental journey into the Hybern camp brings back an unwanted visitor who steals their sister from their camp in the middle of the night. Donning a makeshift disguise as Ianthe, Feyre and Azriel hastily infiltrate Hybern’s camp in an effort to rescue Elain from the king’s clutches. The trio barely escape with their lives, and only with the helping hand of one or two former enemies.
