A Court of Wings and Ruin: Chapters 70 - 77

102 min • 13 juni 2023

Welcome to our 21-part deep-dive literary analysis of Sarah J. Maas’s bestselling romantasy novel, A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOWAR). In this episode, we cover chapters 70 through 77, as Prythian’s greatest powers and its most fractured loyalties collide on the battlefield in a desperate stand against Hybern.

With 13 years of combined academic literary experience and two rotating literary lenses, best friends Jac and Amy analyze how Sarah J. Maas delivers epic fantasy stakes through intimate character moments. We explore the dynamics of reluctant alliances, the mythology of final sacrifice, and the question that haunts every war story: What does survival truly cost?

If you’re new to our podcast, be sure to explore our full literary breakdowns of A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) and A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOMAF) to experience Feyre’s complete transformation before the final act.

Chapter Description:
The High Lords of Prythian wage war against the King of Hybern and his army. Unlikely aid comes in the form of Tamlin, Beron, Jurian, and Greysan—and yet it still is not enough to fend off Hybern or its armada of reinforcements. Not even the arrival of Drakon, Myriam, Lucien, and the human armies can turn the tide. And so a final sacrifice must be given, but too many losses push our heroes too far in their efforts to save the world they love.
