In the wake of their visit to the Den, Bryce and Hunt contemplate how to find hard evidence of Sabine’s involvement in Danika’s death. Both are faced with feelings of loneliness, which ultimately leads to their evening rendezvous in the night garden, where they are attacked by the kristalos demon. The difficulties don’t end there when Sabine confronts the pair. The truth Sabine reveals about Danika’s actions before her death leaves Bryce reeling and spurs her into action to seek answers about who Danika’s true murder might be from an old acquaintance.
