September 15th: How to Stay Calm When You’re Angry | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus

👉 “A gentle answer turns away anger, but a harsh word stirs up wrath.”

💡 What does that mean?
Solomon is teaching a simple but powerful truth:

• When someone’s angry and you yell back, you multiply the emotion

• When you stay calm, kind, or even silent, you cool things down

• You don’t have to match someone else’s anger—you can break the cycle

✅ In this episode, kids will learn:

• Why gentle words are stronger than loud arguments

• How Jesus modeled calm and truth—even when people shouted at Him

• Real ways to turn down anger instead of turning it up

• What it looks like to be a peacemaker, not a reactor

Imagine someone knocks over your Lego set on purpose. You want to explode—but instead you take a breath, say, “That wasn’t cool, but I’m not going to fight about it.”
👉 That’s choosing wisdom over wrath.

📘 Application for Today:

1. Pause before you respond—especially when you're mad

2. Use words that cool things down, not stir things up

3. Remember: Sometimes silence or walking away is the wisest thing you can do

Ask your child:
“Think of a time you got angry. What would a gentle answer have looked like in that moment?”
