Telling the story of a missing girl being discovered eight years later in a sarcophagus, Lee Cronin's The Mummy features a blend of slow burn investigation, possession tropes and a healthy dose of Evil Dead gore.

But how does the film stack up? Does it suffer from tonal whiplash or is this one ride that's worth the run time? Does it feel like a fresh take on an old classic, or is this one dry husk of a movie?
