This is a reading of the martyrdom of Perpetua and Felicitas in 230 AD. This account tells the story of several young catechumens (students) and their slaves being arrested for being Christians. This is the first Christian document we have that was written by a woman, and in it there is a unique focus on motherhood and the woman's perspective.
