The Subplot We Keep Rebuilding

Every story has a moment where fear reaches for control — and Scripture is no different. Beneath the entire biblical narrative runs a hidden subplot that shapes every collapse in Israel’s story, every fracture in human culture, and every drift in the church: the Babel Impulse.

In this episode, we trace the Babel Impulse from Eden to Revelation and uncover the fear‑driven pattern that keeps resurfacing in characters, institutions, and even our own hearts. You’ll see how autonomy in the garden plants the seed, how Israel reenacts the pattern, how Christ confronts it through surrender, and how the early church unintentionally rebuilt the very hierarchy Jesus dismantled.

If you’re a storyteller, pastor, writer, or creator who wants to reveal Christ clearly through narrative instead of cliché, this episode will give you a new lens for writing conflict, designing characters, interpreting culture, and naming the fear beneath the stories we tell.

Because once you see the Babel Impulse… you’ll never unsee it. And you’ll finally be able to tell the story that brings lasting freedom.
