One of the ten films that paired Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet, this is a sharp mystery tale. The three strangers make a wish on a statue of a Chinese goddess and their lives are all spun in unexpected directions. Joan Lorring and Peter Whitney are outstanding in their supporting roles.
