Club Fusion: Top Dance Songs of 2009 Volume 3

Club Fusion presents Top Dance Songs of 2009 Volume 3, a year-end mixtape that revisits the remixed pop, electro and house sounds that dominated dance floors as online retailers reshaped music discovery. This episode doubles as a snapshot of 2009’s market moment — Beatport, Traxsource, Juno Download and the briefly hopeful Masterbeat — and a DJ-friendly sequence of club edits and flagship remixes from that year. The mix highlights Cahill’s club take on Agnes’ “Release Me,” Dave Aude’s club treatments of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” and “Bad Romance,” and Axwell’s rework of Faithless’ “Music Matters,” while nods to Manhattan Clique’s remix of Katy Perry and Stonebridge’s Club Mix of Lily Allen add crossover pop energy. Running through house, funky and electro-leaning edits, the set reflects how curated download stores helped bury the old record-store model and made niche remix culture instantly findable for DJs and fans alike.
