CNC router tips podcast episode 07:
How To Make Two Sided CNC Projects That Actually Line Up.
Q: Dylan asks: How do you make a two sided project that actually lines up?
http://cncroutertips.com/http://cncroutertips.com/resourceshttp://themakersguide.comHow we do it:
We use Dowels aligned along the center line of the part. We drill two alignment holes along the vertical centerline of the part, one on the top and one on the bottom of the line. Next we extend those drilled holes into a sacrificial board clamped to the router table.
Insert dowels into the work piece and down into the sacrificial board. Clamp the work piece down and machine the first side. Flip the part over and use the dowels to align it. Clamp back down and machine the second side.
