April 30- Doctrine & Covenants 45:56-57

In these verses the Lord teaches us a little more about the signs of His coming and then makes reference to the 10 virgins. AGAIN, He is trying to teach us preparedness. In the parable of the 10 virgins I think it is so important to recognize that there were 5 wise and 5 foolish, not 5 righteous and 5 wicked. ALL 10 virgins were good people ALL 10 knew the Savior and were watching and waiting for Him. But the foolish were those who were content with what they had. They felt their preparation was enough and didn't bother accumulating more. As we prepare for the Savior, it isn't a one and done deal. Every day, every choice we are adding oil to our lamps, drop by drop.
