May 11- Doctrine & Covenants 49:12-14

There is such an amazing example given in these verses. Here the Lord is preparing missionaries to go preach to the Shakers. Sending them into preach the way He was, it could have turned into a big old Bible bashing session. But the Lord instructs them right off the bat to preach the basic doctrines of the gospel. In our day when we come across those who would seek to destroy our faith or bring us down, it is so important to remember to respond and to fortify our faith with the basic doctrine and principles of the gospel.
