In this section the Lord calls John Whitmer to replace Oliver Cowdery as church historian. The Lords emphasis on keeping the churches history and writing it down should serve as a testimony to us of the importance of preserving our own histories for the generations who will follow. He also tells John Whitmer that as he is faithful it will be given him to do this calling. As we are faithful in our history writing and in our callings, God can take our efforts and make them more!
