Here we get the chance to see one of the most common attacks of the adversary. He comes to the Savior and says, "IF thou be the Son of God..." IF??? He is trying to attack the Savior's identity, and he does the same thing to us. Because he knows that if he can get us to forget who we really are, he can get us to forget our purpose here on this Earth. But all we need in order to overcome his attacks is a firm understanding of our relationship with God.
