Connected To The Land Podcast

The Dog Sled: Mushing Forward

60 min • 18 februari 2021

Welcome to the Connected To The Land podcast, sponsored by Peavey Mart

In this episode, Ian sits down and talks to Jereme Arsenault, owner/operator of Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours. Located in Canmore, Alberta, Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours was founded in 1983 by Jereme’s parents, Connie and Charles Arsenault when Canmore was a quiet coal mining town. Surprisingly, sled dog tours were non-existent back in the early 1980’s. On December 1st, 1983 Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours sent out it’s first commercial sled dog team and blazed the trail for sled dog touring operators in the Bow Valley.  Since then, they have grown from 1 dog team and 10 sled dogs to 16 dog teams and 180 sled dogs respectfully! To Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours, it has always been about the remarkable and beautiful sled dogs in their care.
