Chattanooga Man Convicted of Killing Witness Erupts in Court, Faces New Charges | True Crime News

In February 2023, 35-year-old Matthew Overby — a Chattanooga father of six — was shot nine times as he sat in his own pickup truck. Prosecutors say the man who killed him, Jamal Adams, had stabbed Overby months earlier — and murdered him to keep him from testifying in that case. On July 17th, a Hamilton County jury convicted Adams of first-degree murder and sentenced him to life without parole. Then he flipped the defense table, screamed for his mother, and had to be wrestled down by court officers. Adams is now facing five new criminal charges from the outburst.
