As the man known as 'Soldier F' is found not guilty of murder on Bloody Sunday in Derry, the judgement of a Belfast court far from exonerates him and his regiment from the atrocities that have marked a generation.
British Paratroopers who shot at fleeing and unarmed civilians and who then lied about the circumstances should hang their heads in shame, a Judge remarked.
