Altcoins are suddenly moving again. Dead portfolios are turning green, timelines are filling with rocket emojis and investors are once more being told that a massive altseason is inevitable.

But one of the most extensive studies ever conducted into liquid crypto tokens has uncovered a brutal statistic: only 1 in 24 altcoins managed to outperform Bitcoin. Among tokens with at least 24 months of history, the success rate fell to approximately 1 in 59.

Even more alarming, the median token eventually lost 97% of its value, while almost three-quarters suffered a collapse of at least 90%.
