The Power Of Teenage Girls With Fangirls Creator Yve Blake

Hi friends, 

Were you a fangirl? Do you remember getting mocked by your parents or peers for enjoying pop music while your brothers and Dad were just considered passionate for crying when their AFL team lost? Us too. 

That’s why we’re so excited to chat with the creator of Fangirls the musical, Yve Blake. The joyful, energetic and thoughtful musical is all about what it’s like to be a teenage fangirl. 

While the show has now (sadly) left Melbourne, we spoke to Yve about why she decided to champion teenage girls, how she wrote a musical with no training, and the importance of putting together a truly diverse cast.
