Today in History: In about 41 CE, King Agrippa I began repairing and building up the walls of Jerusalem. This made the Jewish people glad. (The king's death is described in Acts 12:20–23, and his son and daughter are mentioned in Acts 25:13.) Purim Meshulash (Triple Purim): In rare years when “Shushan Purim” falls on Shabbat in Jerusalem, the holiday is celebrated over a period of three days in the Holy City.
This week's portion is called “VaYak’hel” (He assembled). Think about: What Scripture spoke to you most today and why? Did you learn something about God, or something you need to do in your life?
