A film I’d tried to watch twice before but never got past the first 10 or 15 minutes. This time I stuck with it and found a lot to enjoy, especially Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, who is much better suited to this role than some of his other films I’ve recently revisited. It’s very much a product of its time, with plenty of 70s excess, some great performances and some fantastic moments, but it’s also too long and has a few stretches that drag. A fascinating time capsule of 1976.
