I revisit Tony Scott’s Crimson Tide (1995), a film I originally saw as just another submarine thriller but came to appreciate much more on rewatch. With Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington at the centre, it’s really a fascinating clash between two generations, two leadership styles, and two very different ideas about responsibility.
