Day 14: In the north there is no electricity, and the schools are not open
Om avsnittet
Day One Spanish, episode fourteen of twenty. Today, the art of saying no — and Spanish has made it almost insultingly easy: one word, no, placed before the verb, for everything. No negation tables, no choosing between two negatives like German, and — delightfully — the double negative is not just allowed but required. You also learn la luz (the light, which is how Spanish says electricity) and the emergency kit: el fuego, la ayuda, el peligro. By the end you'll understand and say a real Spanish news sentence: En el norte no hay luz y las escuelas no están abiertas.
