Asylum (1x10)

Hosts Berly and LA tackle Season 1, Episode 10 of Supernatural, and Berly opens with "Home again, home again, jiggety jig" (apparently it's from a nursery rhyme, who knew?). This episode delivers indie horror film quality and some TENSION between the brothers.

The boys get mysterious coordinates from Dad (still ghosting them, typical) leading them to the abandoned Roosevelt Asylum in Rockford, Illinois. Officer Gunderson gives them the backstory about how the place is haunted and drives people insane (RIP Officer Gunderson, we liked you). His partner Officer Kelly goes into a room with a biohazard symbol (smart choice, buddy), gets ghost-zapped, and proceeds to murder his wife and himself. Not okay, Kelly. Not okay.

Sam and Dean investigate and meet stoner couple Kat and Gavin who came to see ghosts for fun. Gavin gets kissed by a ghost with a messed-up face (bottle-smash vibes around the eye), and the hosts agree it was TERRIFYING. The ghosts are actually trying to help, leading them to room 137 and revealing the truth about Dr. Sanford Ellicott, the unethical doctor who performed electroshock experiments on patients.

Episode Highlights:

• Berly guessing someone ate the bodies (wrong, but A for creativity)
• The COOL shot where Kat gets whipped into a room at lightning speed (indie movie quality!)
• Another Dean almost-shirtless scene with a "good arm" and clavicle (the clickbait continues)
• Sam getting ghost-electroshocked and trying to MURDER DEAN
• "Are you gonna shoot me Sam? Gun's filled with rock salt" gets shot "No, but it'll hurt like hell" (LA said this line at the exact same time as Sam)
• The Winchester boys packing THREE shotguns between them (prepared AF)
• Kat breaking up with Gavin by the end (started as "I won't leave without him," ended as "we're done")
• DADDY FINALLY CALLS at the end (cut to black)

The hosts dive into DEEPLY disturbing real psychological experiments including the Stanford Prison Experiment, Operation Midnight Climax (LA approves of the name), MK Ultra, and Little Albert. Turns out Dr. Ellicott wasn't the only unethical doctor in history.
