Karen Thomas recounts her near-death experience during a spinal surgery. After the anesthesia, she found herself observing the chaos in the operating room and then floating out of her body. She describes being pulled upwards, through the hospital, and over Anchorage before entering a tunnel of light. Inside the light, she experienced immense peace and love, and was guided by a man through a lush landscape. She met her deceased relatives and witnessed a review of her life's events. Ultimately, she decided to return to her life, regaining consciousness in the recovery room with a renewed appreciation for living a good life and showing kindness to others.
