100. Self-Reliance Is Keeping You From the Freedom You’re After

Self-reliance can feel like strength. It can feel responsible. It can even feel safe, because when something goes wrong, you know how to figure it out, make it work, and get things done.
But what happens when the very thing that helped you survive becomes the thing keeping you in survival?
In this episode of the Divinely Empowered Woman Podcast, I’m sharing a pattern God has been revealing to me that I call my Automatic Manual Response, the almost-instant response that happens when a problem appears and my mind immediately asks, “How am I going to handle this? How am I going to make this work?”
Before I’ve prayed. Before I’ve paused. Before I’ve even considered whether the solution is supposed to come through me, I’ve already written myself into the story as the one responsible for figuring it out.
And I began to realize how much pressure, anxiety, exhaustion, and unnecessary labor that response had created in my life.
We’re talking about the difference between being capable and being called to carry something, what David taught me about inquiring of God before moving, how good intentions can still take us out of God’s order, and why a God-sized vision cannot be built through an operating system of self-reliance.
