Today, we will practice the Korean grammar patterns ~하는 것 같다 and ~할 것 같다, which can mean “It seems like…,” “It looks like…,” “I think…,” or “It feels like…” in English.
~는 것 같다 is used to express a guess or opinion about something happening now.
~(으)ㄹ 것 같다 is used to express something that will probably happen in the future.
For example:
비가 오는 것 같아요.
→ It seems like it’s raining.
피곤한 것 같아요.
→ It looks like you’re tired.
오늘 바쁠 것 같아요.
→ It seems like today will be busy.
저 사람이 한국 사람인 것 같아요.
→ I think that person is Korean.
