The Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery has announced the upcoming release of the Exeed Liefeng, which is set to be the first production vehicle powered by solid-state battery technology. This innovative vehicle aims to solve common EV limitations by offering an extraordinary 1,500 km range and maintaining high efficiency even in extreme sub-zero temperatures. Utilizing a specialized high-density cell, the battery is designed for enhanced safety, remaining stable and fire-resistant even under physical damage. The car features a high-performance 800-volt platform capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in under three seconds. While a small fleet will begin real-world testing via ride-hailing services this year, large-scale manufacturing for the general public is scheduled for 2027. This development represents a significant leap forward in energy density and charging speeds for the global electric vehicle market.
