Are commentaries cheating? Marlin encourages us to keep our attention on scripture and use study aids in a way that brings our attention back to scripture. He describes three stages of bible study that form an “inside-out sandwich.”

·      Stage three: Prepare final teaching notes directly from the biblical text.
