We discuss why phenomenology matters, the critique of the empiricism and intellectualism in MP's day and our own, the concept of intentionality from Aquinas, Brentano, Husserl and MP, the Cartesian Cogito as the central antagonist to MP's own thought, and the 'contextual worldy 'sense' of sensation.
