Type 3: Achieving Reality with Josh Radnor

Today, Fr. Richard Rohr unpacks the Enneagram Type Three, which is often referred to as “the achiever.” We live, as Fr. Richard puts it, in “a Type Three culture” — a culture obsessed with image, achievement, and approval. Threes often learn as children that love is earned through performance rather than given freely. Over time, this can lead to an over-identification with the presentable self, at the expense of deeper authenticity.  

Today we're also joined by actor, director, and musician Josh Radnor, who is best known for starring on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Josh discusses the multi-faceted nature of professional success and the complexity of finally reaching the "top of the ladder" — only to find it leaning against the wrong wall.   

Today's episode poses a moving question for us all: Can we be loved for who we are, not what we accomplish?
