326 // Isn't home decorating frivalous - why does it even matter? Here's what I have to say to the nay-sayers
Hey friend!
You've heard the phrases:
"Home is where the heart is."
"There's no place like home."
"Home is a feeling."
TRUE...all of that. But home has a backdrop, a landscape to the heart and home definitely has a feeling. How you feel about your home is shrouded in every memory - those that provoke laughter or tears. If you don't like the backdrop to those memories: frustration, overwhelm, disarray, disorganization, chaos, clutter...as the illustrator of your home's canvas - YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE IT!
Simply put...home matters. It should be:
* a respite at the end of a long day
* a shelter from the literal and figurative storms
* a comfort when returning from long times away
* an invitation to relax and restore
* a place for you to feel inspired and delighted
* a scared space for all the memories that make up the landscape of your legacy
So...how do you feel about your home? How are you treating it? Are you ready to take action and turn it into a place where you delight?
