32 min7 juli 2026

11 February 1962 has become a legendary day in the history of Abbey Road. The recording studio located on a residential street in north London. For on that day, John, Paul, George and Ringo recorded 11* songs for there debut album, Please Please Me.

In this weeks episode we start a new series taking a deep dive into The Beatles album catalogue, from Please Please Me released in March 1963, through to Let It Be in May 1970.

Mark and I discuss, the background to the album, the recording sessions and its performance on the charts. Together with why Capitol records in the USA refused to touch the album.

By the way if you think that a typo in the first paragraph, '11 songs', you'll have to listen to  this episode to hear the answer.
