In our first episode recorded in English, we talk to Dr Vincent Boulanin - a Senior Researcher from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and discuss emerging AI-technology within weapon systems. Among a broad range of topics, Vincent works on issues related to the production, use and control of military and security technologies. Vincent guides us through the international laws in place today and the possibility of new legislation surrounding autonomous weapon systems, what role Sweden and other states play regarding the development of AI in weapon systems, how this emerging technology could be used in the future of warfare, as well as his latest report which can be found on SIPRI’s website.
