Disco Funk House 2013: Pure Diisco Shiit Labor Day Mix

This Disco-Funk-House mix from 2013 closes out summer with a DFH set built for Labor Day weekend dancing. The mix leans into a pure disco sound—old-school grooves and modern disco-house edits—showing how the year’s vintage-disco revival let mainstream names be reimagined for the floor. Highlights include a SIMONE remix of Daft Punk’s Lose Yourself To Dance, Antonello Ferrari featuring Dawn Tallman’s Beautiful View, a Cosmic Dawn bootleg of Bruno Mars’ Treasure, and Mark Picchiotti’s Nu-Disco vocal on Enrique Iglesias’ Turn The Night Up. Kylie’s Switch remix of Skirt and selections from My Digital Enemy and DJ Mes keep the energy warm and funky while threading classic disco sensibilities through contemporary production. If you’re after a back-to-basics dance set that mixes familiar pop turns with genuine disco-house producers, this episode is a relaxed, party-ready close to the season designed to keep feet moving and vibes nostalgic without sounding retro for retro’s sake.
