Funky Deep House: The House Sessions December 2K14

This December 2K14 edition of The House Sessions is a funky deep house set assembled to gather tracks that missed the prior month’s mix and keep the groove going into the holidays. It leans into deep, soulful textures with a touch of funk so the mix works equally well as a late-night soundtrack or warm background for cold winter evenings. Highlights thread club-ready originals and remixes into a cohesive flow, including Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo’s Wicked Games, a Phunktastike rework of Blondie’s “Rapture,” Illyus & Barrientos’ take on Gorgon City feat. Jennifer Hudson, and downtempo remix treatments of Lana Del Rey by Crom & Thanh. Shadow Child’s remix of Mary J. Blige and Shift K3Y’s twist on Jessie Ware add familiar vocal anchors amid deeper, lesser-known cuts. Clocking in at just over 90 minutes, this set is built from leftovers and new floor fillers—no filler, just a warm, late-year deep house stew.
