Funky House Disco Mix: Beach House 2K14 Volume 1

Funky house and disco mix — Beach House 2K14 Volume 1 — serves up a sun-ready set of disco, funk, soul and deep house for summer 2014. This first installment is built for beach parties and poolside afternoons, blending contemporary remixes and classic-leaning edits to keep the energy warm and danceable. Highlights include Mark Picchiotti’s beach-leaning rework of Katy Perry’s “Birthday,” DJ Kue’s Studio 54–styled mix of Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good,” and Nora En Pure’s remix of Klingande’s “Jubel.” The mix also leans into disco pedigree from Joey Negro vs. Horse Meat Disco, a punchy Cahill club take on Lisa Stansfield, and a late-set boost from Mark Knight’s Basement Jaxx remix. A notable Frankie Knuckles remix is held for Volume 2, promised later in the week as a tribute and follow-up to this set.
